What our team are saying

“I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2021 and was taken on by UMC having completed the RIBA mentoring scheme with them. I am now being supported on my master’s through the apprenticeship at UoN. I am grateful to have worked on a variety of projects with experience across the RIBA Workstages. This has given me exposure to the industry, and insight into the real-world application of theoretical concepts discovered in university, all while working alongside a supportive group of people in a collaborative working environment. I am excited to keep working towards becoming an architect and look forward to all the opportunities UMC can provide me in the future.”

Logan Russell

Architectural Assistant

“I joined UMC architects as an aspiring architectural technologist, with aspirations on becoming a MCIAT charted technologist. Within a year of working at UMC I achieved my goal. The amount of support that I had from the entirety of UMC was phenomenal, they provided invaluable CPD opportunities, they were incredibly proactive with the job selection to really highlight what was needed for the application and dedicated 1 on 1 time with me to help fine tune the required skills. I would highly recommend UMC to anybody pursuing the next step in their career or anybody who is in the early stages of their career, you won’t regret it.”

Gareth Thomas

Senior Architectural Technologist

“I am a newly qualified Architect, having completed both Part 2 and Part 3 through the apprenticeship program with UMC Architects. Throughout this experience, my confidence has significantly increased and expertise, successfully managing projects while simultaneously advancing my academic qualifications. Although the path was challenging at times, I have emerged stronger, thanks to the invaluable support and wealth of knowledge provided by UMC Architects. I am eager to embrace future opportunities with UMC.”

Rebecca Codd

Architect

“After graduating from NTU in 2021, I joined UMC Architects in April 2022 as my second architectural job. With my mentor’s guidance, I worked on major projects like JLR fit-out and Breedon Cement Works, inspiring me to pursue the Level 7 Architectural Apprenticeship. My team’s support—at work and at the pub—feels like family”
