Hand over at Leicester Distribution Park

Having delivered the detailed design for a pre-let bespoke temperature controlled facility for Samworth Brothers in 2017, UMC Architects were appointed as masterplanners by Graftongate Developments to undertake initial feasibility studies focusing on the next phase of development at Leicester Distribution Park, which consisted of 3x speculative industrial units ranging in size from 50,000sqft up to 100,000sqft.

Each unit offers clear internal heights and service yard depths compatible with the requirements of future B1(b and c) / B2 and B8 occupiers. The units also include first floor mezzanine office accommodation allowing a flexible warehouse under-croft below and are designed to achieve an EPC A rating and BREEAM very good.

Situated within an established manufacturing and logistics location, the site owned by Blackrock Investment Management is 4 miles to the west of Leicester city centre and less than a mile from the M1 within the Braunstone industrial area which benefits from easy access to the UK’s main North/South corridor and motorway network beyond.

UMC Architects were appointed to undertake the detailed design of the 3x units alongside Main Contractor Winvic Construction.
