A new ‘build-to-suit’ 657,000sq.ft logistics facility for Howdens Joinery Group Plc, at Warth Park, Northampton, has completed on time and within budget.
As masterplanners for the 80 acre Warth Park site in Northampton, UMC Architects were also appointed for the detailed design of the new facility, working closely with the contractor, Winvic Construction.
The scheme comprises 630,000sq.ft of warehouse space, built to 15m clear internal height, with an ancillary 3-storey office block, in addition to two operational pod offices. Externally, the building is served by 66 x loading docks, 19 x level entry doors and 50m deep service yards, along with additional ancillary functions, including a 7,000sq.ft VMU, fuel island and vehicle wash.
