Director
Get to know more about Matthew
Having been nominated for the RIBA Silver Medal in 1996, Matthew left the Hull School of Architecture, to work for Mott McDonald on large-scale projects, including the redevelopment of Twickenham Rugby Stadium. After joining Burks Green in 2000, Matthew went on to head up a project team responsible for the delivery of numerous developer-led distribution projects. Matthew quickly became team director, before ultimately deciding to help develop newly formed UMC Architects in 2013 and link up with his former colleagues.
Over the past twelve years Matthew has been responsible for leading many new-build and refurbishment projects in the industrial and logistics sector, helping UMC Architects to become a leading UK practice.
In his spare time, as well as operating an out-of-hours taxi service for his children, Matthew occasionally tries to fit in some exercise, running around the hills of Sheffield. As a member of the follically-challenged community, Matthew also still clings on to the hope that a cure for baldness is ‘just around the corner’.
