UMC Architects were originally appointed by Valor Real Estate Partners to undertake a feasibility review into the possible reconfiguration and refurbishment of an existing 203,592sqft distribution facility at Valor Park, Milton Keynes. The scheme comprised the retro-fitting of additional loading doors, reconfiguration of the existing car parking and realignment of the service yard entrance.

The main envelope of the building was completely refurbished with over-cladding of the lower level brick fa├žade and high level profiled cladding as well as the introduction of a new roof with rooflights. The existing 2-storey office block was completely stripped out and reconstructed to provide open plan accommodation suitable for the speculative development market.

Having acquired planning consent for the proposed works, UMC Architects worked with the Main Contractor Glencar construction through to completion of the project in December 2017 on time and within budget.
