UMC Architects have been appointed by Liberty Property Trust & Stoford as masterplanners for the Liberty Park, Widnes development as well as the delivery of the detailed design for the new speculatively built L107 unit which represents the first phase of construction at the site.

 

Liberty Park, Widnes is strategically located at the junction of Speke Boulevard (A562) and the Knowsley Expressway (A5300) and sits at the heart of South Liverpool’s thriving employment zone which is acknowledged both regionally and nationally as a premier location for a wide variety of business occupiers. Liberty Park is also situated at the centre of the proposed 3MG rail freight distribution zone which is destined to be one the UK’s largest inter-modal logistics parks.

 

UMC Architects are supporting GMI Construction Group through the detailed design and construction phase of the L107 project which is due of completion in Q3 2019. The new unit offers a footprint of 107,210sqft and comprises a 12m clear internal height, in order to accommodate the requirements of future B1(b and c) / B2 and B8 occupiers. The unit also includes 5,960 of first floor mezzanine offices with a warehouse under-croft below, a service yard depth of 64.5m with 8no. dock leveller loading doors and 2no. level access doors in addition to 89no. car parking spaces.

 

The building will be targeting a minimum EPC rating of ‘B’ and a BREEAM rating of very good.
