UMC Architects have been appointed by St Modwen Logistics to undertake the design of the new 79-acre St Modwen Park, Chippenham Development in North Wiltshire which comprises build to suit opportunities from 100,000sqft up to 800,000sqft.

The scheme which is situated on the M4 corridor midway between Bristol and Swindon represents the latest UMC Architects appointment by St Modwen Logistics with the practice novated to work alongside Main Contractor Winvic Construction throughout the Detailed Design and Construction phases of the project.

Having obtained Outline Planning Permission in August 2018, UMC Architects have assisted in securing a reserved matter consent to develop two speculative commercial units which includes the construction of the 106,000sqft Unit 1. The new unit forms the first phase of construction at the site and offers a clear internal height of 12.5m, 50m service yard and first floor mezzanine offices. The building is also designed to achieve an EPC rating of A and incorporate electric vehicle charging points.

With work now underway on the scheme, Unit 1 is expected to be ready for occupation in Autumn 2020
