UMC Architects are supporting Stoford Developments and Oxenwood Real Estate with the Architectural design of a new industrial unit at the site of a former Carlsberg Brewery depot in Wigan. The site is located on Yew Tree Way Golborne and sits within the wider Stone Cross employment area, which extends to approximately 32 hectares. The proposal is well connected to the surrounding highway network being situated adjacent to the A580 East Lancashire Road and approximately two miles from Junction 23 of the M6.

Planning approval was granted by Wigan Borough Council in May 2019 the development of Stone Cross 72, a new-build, 72,500sqft Grade A facility on the residual balance of land to the south of the existing building. The unit will include inboard offices, external service yards, car parking & cycle storage facilities.

UMC Architects have been responsible for the initial master-planning as well as supporting the successful planning application.
