The unit at Springfield Business Park Chelmsford was the first commission for UMC Architects with Royal London Asset Management and became the 8th ‘superhub’ scheme designed by the practice for the UK’s fastest-growing major parcel delivery company, having previously been involved with the delivery of units in Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Lincoln, Raunds and Swansea.

The new purpose built facility is fitted with state of the art fully automated sorting conveyers, and has the capacity to handle 6,000 packages an hour.

UMC Architects supported Main Contractor Readie Construction through to completion in June 2020.
