The scheme involved the demolition of the existing Units 4 and 5, erection of a new warehouse building adjacent to Unit 1 to provide 16,908sqm of floorspace (GIA) and relocation of existing traffic office, vehicle maintenance unit building, and HGV parking.
UMC were involved in the coordination of the project phasing, which needed to be implemented within a busy live site, whilst a new interface link between the new and existing buildings was incorporated.
Having successfully secured planning consent for the new facility, UMC Architects were appointed for the detailed design of the new facility working closely with the main contractor McLaren Construction Ltd.
