Kellogg’s, Haydock

Having been responsible for supporting McLaren Construction with the detailed design of the initial developer base build of the new 525 Haydock facility for Bericote Properties in 2019, UMC Architects were appointed to assist Glencar Construction with the fit out of the unit for cereal and snack giant, Kellogg's.

Kellogg’s will lease the building in Haydock St Helens to help in the delivery of its famous food brands, like Corn Flakes, Coco Pops and Pringles across Britain and for export to the European Union and Middle East. The Haydock site will be Kellogg’s largest warehouse in the UK and will complement its existing British operations including factories in Manchester and Wrexham, and a UK head office in Salford’s MediaCity.

The works were executed while the facility was live and included the installation of racking, duct work, sprinklers and lighting to the main warehouse area. The scheme also incorporated the creation of new office space.

The project was completed on time and on budget despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
