LIDL UK HQ, Tolworth
UMC Architects are proud to have supported main multi-disciplinary contractor Winvic Construction Ltd, who have built LIDL’s new UK headquarters in Tolworth.
The 250,000 sq. ft. building is just five miles from LIDL’s current HQ in Wimbledon and has been built to enhance in house collaboration, whilst providing staff with accessible resources to fulfil their roles.
The building, which spans five floors, has been built with a number of innovative measures to reduce its impact on the environment.

The building design includes features such as;
- Full height glazed Atrium, offering substantial natural daylight deep inside the building, whilst offering other environmental benefits such as, solar heat gain, reduced energy losses and natural ventilation.
- Exposed structural core, providing substantial thermal mass.
State of the art kitchen and canteen. - Fully equipped gym with 2 studio spaces, promoting healthy living in an accessible environment.
4th floor terraces, promoting health and wellbeing at work. - Multi storey car park. Including the largest number of electric car charging points in one location in the UK. The solar panels on the car park provide circa 300kW of energy per hour.
Practical Completion for this high specification flagship building was achieved in January 2022.
