Ocado CFC, Luton

Ocado CFC is a 17 acre plot on the northern side of Luton, adjacent to the M1 motorway (Junction 11a). The warehouse shell was constructed in 2019 and has been leased by Ocado who are installing their automated Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC).

The facility includes an existing three storey floor office of 18,686 sqft which has been fitted out with new walls, ceilings and finishes. Externally the scheme includes a 248m service yard with 19 HGV dock loading doors and 19 chill van docks as well as 319 car and 238 van parking spaces.

Additional internal buildings have been constructed within the existing warehouse including a technical services block, tote wash, waste room, maintenance workshop, waste room, central stores and dispatch hub building.

UMC Architects were appointed by Ocado to prepare the internal warehouse design and site layout. UMC are also undertaking the Principal Designer role and subsequently novated to support Winvic Construction Ltd who are the Main Contractor for the project.
