The new facility incorporates chilled produce chambers for imported foods including pineapples, melons, banana’s grapes and oranges as soon as they arrive by sea freight. The chilled warehouse area of 219,000sqft is served by 25 dock levellers and 1 level access door. Ancillary mezzanine offices of 17,000sqft are located over the loading areas to add to the storage volume and site density. The facility which processes over 5,000 pallets per week was handed over on time and within budget in July 2016.
