Woolmer Road, Longmoor

A two-unit B2 and B8 use class speculative scheme, set on the edge of the South Downs National Park on a former MOD site. Due to the location of the proposal, there was a lengthy pre-application process whereby the design team engaged with the local authority, the South Downs National Park Authority and associated Design and Ecology Officers to come up with a sympathetic proposal.

The end result is an enhanced ‘shed’ proposal featuring living walls, green roofs, timber cladding, enhanced office elements, reduced hardstanding to car parks and increased planting and ecological proposals.

UMC have proposed an independent telegraph post and wire planting proposal to the southern boundary as a cost-effective screening solution and to create habitat opportunities, along with partial pergolas over parking spaces. There has been extensive work in relocating acid grasses that are present on site.
